I’ve been off the air for too long once again! But at least now I have something excting to share!
I spent a few weeks in England during August, and when in South Wales I visited The Welsh Quilt Centre in Lampeter, the brain child of Jen Jones. They had an absolutely amazing exhibition called “Kaffe Fassett comes to Wales”. Kaffee Fassett quilts were all hung from the roof so you could see both sides and the walls of the hall were adorned with single colour, antique Welsh wholecloths. The contrast between the ultra colourful and the ‘quieter’ wholecloths was fantastic.
As a “quilter” , the Welsh quilts were mind blowing. Obviously, I’m a machine quilter, but these hand quilted treats were so inspiring. The designs are relatively simple but executed with such skill. I’m all fired up to try a machine quilted version…sometime!!!
